Why can’t I add an icon to my button in Wix Studio?

What is the Quick Add menu, and why is it different?

Using the Quick Add menu makes adding things like containers, headings, text, and decorative elements like horizontal and vertical lines really quick and easy. It’s designed for speed, so you can build out a page without digging through menus.

But when it comes to buttons in Wix Studio, it's not giving you what you need. The button it adds is a basic version, which is why you won’t see options like icons or more advanced styling controls.

Instead, head to the Buttons section in the panel on the left. That’s where you’ll find properly styled buttons with far more control.

Adding a Styled Button to Wix Studio

Once you head into the Buttons section, you’ll see a range of different styles to choose from. You can scroll through and pick one that fits what you’re building, or just grab a simple one from the top and customise it yourself.

All of these give you far more control than the basic Quick Add button, including the ability to add icons and adjust the styling properly.

Adding an Icon to a Button in Wix Studio

Once you’ve added a styled button, open the Button Layout panel. Here you can choose how the button is structured: text only, icon and text, icon only, or even nothing at all.

That last option is especially useful if you want a transparent button over a container, making the whole area clickable.

Once you’ve chosen your layout, head to the Button Settings panel. From there, you can update the text and swap out the icon for whatever you need.
